In the heart of Knoxville, at a state-of-the-art research facility, scientists make a groundbreaking discovery: a virus named HZ-21. This virus, found in ancient bat guano deep within the uncharted caves of the Appalachian Mountains, possesses unique properties that make it incredibly resilient and adaptable. Dr.Carter and her team see immense potential in HZ-21, believing it could be harnessed to create a universal vaccine capable of combating multiple diseases by mutating to counter various pathogens.

June 3rd, 2025 marked the beginning of the end. An unmarked refrigerated truck veered off the road in southern Virginia and took a passenger car into a ditch. The incident made the news as a tragic but trivial event that initially resulted in zero deaths. Within two weeks, everyone involved in the accident, including the first responders, perished due to a mysterious disease later called FRV, or False Revival Virus. Apt to its name, victims of FRV would succumb after several days of worsening symptoms and unshakeable dread before rising again within minutes. Upon reanimation, the infected devolved into aggressive, cannibalistic corpses. It was only a matter of time before the highly contagious disease spread rapidly over county and state lines. Government-sponsored and dutifully monitored quarantine zones promised safety near major cities. Within months, over half of them had fallen. The failures of quarantine zones had sparked motivation in those ambitious enough to tackle the need for community in these trying times, knowing that was what it would take for humanity to pull through the nightmare victorious. Vandermill, a settlement in upstate New York, claims it was among the first to erect walls. Upon the arrival of August 2026, it’d been over a year since the world, as it was once known, had ceased to exist. However, it also marked the first anniversary of Vandermill’s establishment. The flourishing community has managed to stay afloat. Dangers of FRV are prevalent, but that doesn’t even begin to address the threat survivors pose to each other. The easy answer is it was caused by human stupidity. The longer, much more... precise answer is that there was one sole town, named Powell Town, that tried to break off from the newly established **Monarchy(!)** of North America(NMA). They thought that their fancy tools and cutting edge technology could let them hold their own against the NMA, attempting to create a forcefield around the town. Unfortunately, they fucked themselves and were unable to shut down the force field and their children got fucked up due to the radiation inside. Turning these groups into zombies. **2077** After 7 years, the NMA got control of this forcefield and essentially turned it into a prison colony for all Insubordinates. **The year is now 2150, if you aren't a criminal you are the son of one. If you are not the son of one you are the grandson of one... so on. No rules Build and craft as you see fit and tell me if someone's being unfair so I can intervene.**
