Nobody truly knows when it began, but many years ago a rift opened between the three reigning kingdoms of the continent. From it poured a legion of monsters, which at the time, were an unknown source that wrought terror and death. In the current day, monsters have been mostly categorised, and with the Chasm being mostly an afterthought, tensions are rising between the kingdoms. Will they be united? The Konsō Reisai ceremony is said to allow a deceased Captain's Reishi to be reabsorbed into the soil of the Soul Society — BUT THAT IS A LIE. A Captain's Reishi is simply too powerful, placing it in the upper three tiers of Reii, and thus cannot be reclaimed by the soil no matter what. FOR SOULS THAT HAVE GAINED TOO MUCH POWER, THE ROAD OF SALVATION DOES NOT EXIST.
