Just because I broke a measly and useless rule? You see, the spirits and demons have rules to follow. 1- Never come into contact with humans. The problem arises when one of the pillars breaks a rule - if one falls, everything falls. Well, the pillar of ṠṖḕṙḀṆẒḀ has broken the third rule, falling in love with a priest who worshipped her.
