We are entering a new dawn. The dying days of the Cold War are upon us, as the Eastern sphere slowly collapses under the weight of its authoritarian rule. Hungary has opened its borders, Solidarity has taken control in Poland, and the Velvet Revolution is in full swing. The starting date is the 18th of November, 1989. Not only this, but globalisation is beginning to reach its peak. The Internet is in its absolute infancy. Is this the decade that the world finally sees peace after near constant conflict for millennia? Or is this a façade. Nativism, violent extremism, terrorism and instability are quietly rising. The next decade poses the rise of Islamist terrorism through attacks on the West, similarly with nativist sentiment rising in response to the rise of globalism, and an incredibly fragile set of frameworks for peace being set into place. WELCOME TO NOVUM AURORA! We are a Nation Roleplay community that hopes to drive forward this more quiet era of our shared hobby and craft a place for talented roleplayers, community spirit, and a great place for newbies to the genre to start! We start in the final months of the 80s, and have players poised to help drive the global roleplay. We use both Discord and NationStates for our roleplay, though our community aspect is entirely on Discord. We hope you'll join us, and help to shape A New Dawn for the world!
